I was referred to AAU after what I thought would be a routine GP appointment to discuss a recent recurring ailment. I was obviously scare to be in such a position but the team of Dr El-Taweel and Lynn were amazing and really put me at ease and no question was too much. I was admitted and the team on Ward 5 were fantastic and had such a laugh with the porters and nurses which gave light relief to a serious situation. My stay resulted in follow up appointments with DME/stoke pathway/neurology and each team were sympathetic, professional, empathetic and a true credit to NHS Borders.
