Arrived at hospital as stated in appointment letter. Staff were very polite and clear social distancing was well signposted and adhered to. The waiting area was not at all busy and I was called in at my appointment time. That’s were the positive experience ends.
The room was small and had 4 health professionals in it so hardly Covid-19 secure. I was politely introduced to all present. I did not comment about the room nor did I comment that I was surprised that my prescribed GP medication list was dismissed as unnecessary when asked for a potted history. It would have been useful if the consultant had even glanced at it then I would have not maybe been prescribed the medication I was already taking- admittedly a cream and not the pessaries I have been taking for the last 18 months. I only went to rule out cancer because my GP requested it. As the consultant announced to the room full of people that there was no cancer - I will NOT be attending for a 6 week follow up appointment. I am a full time carer for my husband who is still shielding and I cannot risk being exposed as I was at this consultation. My visit was totally unpleasant.
