"My gender change"

About: Highly Specialist Services / Gender Identity Service (GIS)

(as the patient),

The gender clinic not talking to me  and not keeping me informed. Hold back on services and blaming corona virus when other services are open. I am stuck in the middle of my gender change and in limbo wanting to move forward but the gender clinic has stopped my life moving forward. It is having a big affect on my mental health and the clinic gives no help the only thing for me is to move toward my surgery but the clinic control my life? Help me move as the way the clinic is not working is destroying me.

I am really sorry that you feel forgotten about and in limbo. Here at the Gender Clinic, we recognise the stress or frustration that has occurred with delays in people’s progression in care from our clinic due to COVID. We really appreciate your understanding regarding this challenging situation. Patient and staff safety is at forefront of any decision making.

If you would like an update on your personal situation, you are welcome to contact the clinic and ask for me directly and I will aim to provide you with an update regarding your care.
