"Excellent, efficient care especially in a pandemic."

About: New Victoria Hospital / Out-of-hours GP service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

Absolutely excellent service from all NHS staff involved. 

In the early hours of the morning Suffered chronic pain in my lower back. Called NHS24 Scotland, the call handler answered call straight away and was very kind. After describing my symptoms to a senior nurse he arranged for the duty Doctor to call me. 

Within half an hour the Doctor called and was concerned and wanting to see me right away. I received an appointment 30 mins later. 

I was seen at the New Victoria hospital Glasgow out of hours service. A friendly nurse took me to a room and asked me to provide a urine sample. 

Within 20 mins the Doctor saw me and test was positive for a Kidney Infection he prescribed strong antibiotics and pain killers. 

The pain was relieved and I was able to sleep. He was very kind and explained everything to me well. 

Excellent, efficient care especially in a pandemic.
