About: Manor Medical Practice

I’m not allowed to name members of staff on here so unfortunately for me I won’t be able to but I would if people asked me! No question.

I live with bipolar disorder - and at manor medical practice - I’ve always been treated with the utmost respect, dignity and understanding that everyone should receive from everyone yet oftentimes we don’t.

I am utterly HEARTBROKEN to have to leave this practice (Moving house) as it was the only place I have ever felt truly “safe” to discuss my mental illness within the nhs (mental health services people change so frequently you never get to know them, they never get to know you - correction diagnosis and medications are very difficult because of this AND I’ve moved around a LOT).

Whereas

I have been at manor medical practice for 2 plus years now for my general practice & mental health (also with psychiatry in mh services too) and - the Dr who I get to see for my appointments knows ME as a human as well as me when within the grips of my illness (sometimes too anxious to even speak - never mind explain what my illness is, how it affects me, what meds I’m on, and what exactly is the current problem -

Bipolar brains can struggle with these questions...)

What I’m saying is - manor medical practice Has given me what many oftentimes overlook.

Consistency of care and a known friendly face. I Have managed to have that thing again from childhood where I trusted my doctor because I knew him and he knew me.

Plus - all the staff on the phones and reception are really welcoming, friendly, knowledgable and efficient and aside from the odd glitches everyone has now and then with gps and computers and things - I’ve felt very grateful for manor medical practice these past few years and I am sad to leave. I hope my next drs is as good. I would definitely recommend them to others - but I’m sure they’ve got their hands full already!
