"My double prolapse and the lack of treatment"

About: St Mary's Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I went to see the Gynaecologist at St Marys in august 2019 after being referred because I need surgery and am called a complex case. The gynaecologist said I needed surgery and they would put me on the list.

In October/ November they phoned me to say they had looked at my notes and because I had had previous surgeries in the area they would need to open me up, could they have my permission if needed to go in through my vagina. I agreed, the doctor said they would amend the permission sheet.

I heard nothing until July 2020 when I received a letter asking if I still needed surgery or had I had it elsewhere. I emailed and phoned to say surgery was now urgent as my prolapse is the size of a babies head. Since then I have heard nothing again.

I went to my doctor 2 weeks ago who examined me and said they would write a strongly worded letter to my gynaecologist as it really is affecting my life and my marriage. I still have had no contact.

I am at my wits end to be honest I feel disgusting having this huge thing hanging between my legs constantly. I have been on anti depressants for the past 5 months. I totally understand about COVID but I also know women have been having surgery and I feel like I have been totally forgotten about. To be honest I don’t know how much more I can take the pain I am in with it on a daily basis, infections it is getting worse
