About: Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

On Thursday the doctors told me I would be given two units of blood. One on Thusday evening and the second Friday morning. I would then be discharged. On Friday morning Doctor rounds I was asked how I got on with the transfusion. I told them it didn't happen and still hadn't. They asked me why. I told them I had no idea. I was not the person to ask. Eventual I did get the two units of blood and was discharged at 7 pm. My partner having a 4 hr wait to drive me home.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us at Pilgrim Hospital and we are very sorry that you encountered issues relating to a blood transfusion and the long wait experienced by your partner. We would like to pass your feedback to the ward you stayed on so if you are able to tell us, we will pass this on to them. If you could email patient.experience@ulh.nhs.uk we'll share your story with them.
