"X ray procedure."

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Imaging

(as a service user),

I am currently an inpatient in Glasgow Royal Infirmary being treated for septic arthritis. I am currently on a substantial amount of intravenous anti biotics to treat my infection. With daily blood tests and the delivery of antibiotics unfortunately my veins are failing. It was decided by the team looking after my care that it best to have a peripheral catheter inserted. I was quite anxious and a tad nervous about the procedure. Kay and Dave carrying out the procedure were superb. They explained everything in detail, reassured me and made what I had expected to be a daunting experience straightforward and pain free. . I   can’t thank them enough for their obvious skill and professionalism.
