"Infusion"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Clinical Intervention Unit

(as the patient),

For the past 3 years I've been getting infliximab (inflectra) infusions for arthritis. This is usually a fairly straightforward task, with me getting in and out in under 2hrs. However, sometimes its not so easy and I find myself sat in the chair with my cannula for over an hour waiting on the medicine to arrive. Aside from that, everything else is great, staff are lovely, always get offered tea n biscuits. Also, their response to covid has been good as far as I know, usually im in a room with ~20 other people but now I'am in a doctors room by myself.

Thank you for your feedback it is always important for us so we can continue to improve our service. Occassionaly there are problems with the drug arriving promptly and we work closely with pharmacy to try and avoid this happening but sometimes circumstances out with our control prevent this from happening. We take great pride in our department and apologize for any delay you have experienced. As part of ensuring patient safety during Covid we have socially distanced our chairs which mean there are less chairs and to allow all our patients to continue with their treatments we have utilised our side rooms. Also thank you for your kind comments about the staff good to know we are making a good impression.

Regards
