It has been 4 weeks now that we have been trying to get printed copies of my daughter's synacthen tests. Numerous calls and a letter posted to endocrinology department and still no results, no copies of test results that any patient has right to have.I feel the quality of work of admin staff and communication in endocrinology department is very poor. The secretary of endocrinologist never seems to be at work, They have never answered a single call, does not matter if I call first thing in the morning, afternoon or evening.
Apparently time for a phone appointment was set up for us, but we missed it simply because we did not know about it -no one told us about it! No letter or phone call with information about the appointment. Though I called the endocrinology department this very day in the morning, spoke to another secretary, asked for printed copies of both synacthen tests but was never told about the appointment. And now I received a letter saying "Sorry you missed the appointment, we have discharged your daughter from the clinic". It was also mentioned that her tests results are "almost normal" though she was referred due to severe and debilitating symptoms she experiences on every day basis.
We are very frustrated and disappointed with the quality of service and lack of support for a young person provided by endocrinology department and poor work quality of admin staff. Surely printing out and sending tests results should not take 4 weeks. And it is our right as patient / parents to have access to the tests results. We need these results for consultations with other doctors as our daughter has complex health issues which require involvement of different specialists. This kind of foot dragging of endocrinology department in my opinion puts my daughter's health under more risk.
"Can't get copies of recent test results"
