I attended dermatology at Monklands Hospital where they performed a biopsy on my leg in July. I was informed over the phone that it was a spindle cell tumor and the biopsy had to go to Glasgow for a second opinion. I have telephoned for result loads of times then finally on September I was informed that the biopsy was send to London for a 3rd opinion. I cannot even begin to tell you how stressful it is constantly being told they are waiting for result to check if it is benign or malignant. I have been told by Dr that regardless of result I will be referred to plastics for a bigger biopsy. I am now at 9 weeks since original biopsy with no result! I have had to resort to taking prescribed sleeping tablets from my GP as I cannot sleep with worrying about this. Is this the normal process and how long is too long to wait for a result?
