I opted out of patient surveys after a couple of bad experiences with Ngh, but credit where credit is due. I was recently admitted via gp, my experience was totally different, I could see posters that explained what I could expect and it was informative and reassuring. I was moved to accident and emergency, seen by a doctor, taken for xrays, returned to a and e, moved to assessment who were amazingly kind and told me exactly what they will do while there.
I was moved next day to another assessment ward and then up to the elderly ward brampton, have to say unhappy about this as I am a young 67, but the staff were incredible, as they were in the assessment unit down stairs. Once I got over the shock mon being with such elderly people, the service was second to one. I saw staff attend to other patients needs almost instantly, people were fed, washed and helped with all tasks. We were all monitored at regular intervals and really nothing was too much trouble.
As I was sent by my gp I didn't have anything with me, they supplied me with toothbrush, paste, comb, deodorant and even a sympathy card as I lost my sister with a brain tumour while in there.
Please ensure that the staff from both wards, accident and emergency and frailty team all receive my highest praise for their care of me and the other patients in their care. Thank you so much
