"Phone calls dropped after 1 minute"

About: The Royal London Hospital

My partner was taking into hospital on Wed 16th at 10 ish. I have not heard from him since. I have tried to call the main switchboard number 020773777000 to find out whether he has been admitted, which ward he is in etc. But every time I call the phone system cuts off my call after about a minute saying no response / timed out. I don't see how this is a suitable system - it means that I have to keep on ringing again and again - rather than just call once and wait for the phone to be picked up. This has only added to my anxiety and distress at this end - not being able to find out what has happened to my partner.
