I would like to thank the Whittington Hospital for the care I received on 14/09 in the A & E Department after a 6 day episode of Atrial Fibrillation (asymmetrically irregular but no racing pulse), which by the time I arrived there had reverted back to normal. The care was totally professional and empathetic from the reception team on to the young Doctor and Nurse who attended me.
2 days later I received a knock on the door from a senior Doctor from Whittington who was visiting a patient a few doors away, he called to ask how I was getting on. He checked my pulse, discussed the condition further and advised me on how to take the medication I have used in the past - should I get another episode.
The effect of such a home call for a patient is incredibly reassuring and beneficial. To find a senior Doctor who was genuinely interested in my progress, is utterly outstanding and beyond anything I would have expected during this pandemic. My thanks again to Whittington Hospital and to those members of staff I have had the pleasure to meet.
"Professional and empathetic"
