I was an inpatient after having surgery on the Cardiothoracic ward 27. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful, the hospital was very clean and precautions around Covid were all taken very seriously.
One suggestion for improvement would be for a leaflet to be produced giving information about what surgery will entail, why it is necessary and what recovery will look like (I had VATS surgery but I'm sure this would be helpful for most procedures), as it can be quite hard to take in verbal information when unwell and stressed and it would have been useful to have something in writing to take away afterwards.
The Drs, nurses and support staff on ward 27 were all excellent and I would highly recommend the service to family and friends.
"Excellent staff"
