"Fantastic care and professionalism"

I have only positive comments to make relating to Picktree Court care home, its staff and management. They have looked after my mam for nearly 8 years, their care and support of both of us has been fantastic. The home is very well maintained and very clean with high quality furnishings/fittings. It is not only the care staff and nurses who look after all the residents to such a high standard but also the activities, laundry, kitchen, cleaners and maintenance teams. They all play a huge part in making this home one of the best in the area and I have never regretted my decision to choose Picktree Court. I have always felt my mam was with her 'second family' and the team at Picktree , both on the Nursing and Residential floors, looked after her with great care and dignity whilst also supporting myself when I visited or had any queries. The management and staff treat everyone with respect , I always knew my mam was a person to them with likes, dislikes and her own personality, not just a number on their books. Over the time I've been visiting my mam at Picktree since 2012 I have always found the staff to be polite, very very caring and extremely professional as though my mam was their own family. This is very reassuring to experience and makes the decision to move your family into care much less painful. It is purely a change of address and all the things you did with them when they were at home you can still do but you have the benefit of the whole Picktree Court team to support you. The Management team at Picktree are a family themselves and I do believe this is what ensures the home is so well run. They would always be available for any queries, concerns or even just a general chat , I liked the fact they spoke to you personally and were genuinely making sure they did the very best for the residents. They also have regular resident and family meetings where it's useful to hear other peoples point of view and things raised at these sessions can then be addressed positively. The Covid pandemic has put a massive strain on everyone both internally and externally to Picktree Court but i do think that all actions the management team have taken were the right ones, ie early lockdown , purchasing their own PPE, restricting access internally to keep each floor secure and independent, insisting on testing for both residents and staff as soon as they were able to and continuing with this practice, keeping agency cover to an absolute minimum. Communications with staff, families and residents has been very professional throughout the pandemic. Visiting and Zoom calls with family have also been extremely well managed but probably not as often as we'd have liked but everyone I've spoken to has been grateful. It is unprecedented times and everyone is having to adjust from the norm as we knew it. To summarise I've always been very happy to recommended Picktree Court to any families who were/are looking for a home to take care of their loved one.
