"Wonderful Hospital"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital

I was referred to the emergency room of the Liverpool women’s Hospital this morning by my doctor’s surgery, I wasn’t sure what to expect due to the current situation of COVID-19. I was greeted at the door by a lovely lady who asked me to sanitise my hands, I already had a mask but she had some to give out if I hadn’t had one. I told her I had been advised to attend by my Doctor and she showed me the way to the Emergency room. Once there, I was buzzed in and welcomed by a very friendly girl who took some general information and asked me to take a seat. After about 20 minutes I was triaged by a lovely nurse who asked me about my problem and then carried out some general health checks after asking for my consent. She was very reassuring and understanding and took her time to listen to me. She then asked me to go and sit outside and wait to be called to see the Doctor. After about half an hour I was called and the Doctor introduced himself, he asked me about my problem and then asked if he could examine me. I agreed to this and then a really nice Nurse came in and gave me all I needed for the examination. The Doctor then carried out the examination In her presence and diagnosed my condition, he asked me if I would mind if he got a more specialised Doctor to confirm his diagnosis. I agreed to this and the Doctor came to see me after about five minutes. The Doctor was absolutely lovely and agreed with his diagnosis. She then explained my condition and asked me to get dressed. I was then told everything I needed to know and what the treatments were and was referred to the appropriate clinic for the start of this. Both Doctors made me feel really reassured and relieved and answered all my concerns and questions. Considering all the restrictions and concerns about Covid 19 I was amazed at the standards the Hospital has in place, everywhere is well spaced out, chairs are labelled for social distancing, hand sanitising stations are well stocked and regularly spaced out and there are plenty of friendly helpful staff to assist you should you need it. Every member of staff I met from entering the hospital to leaving where absolutely outstanding, they are a credit to the Hospital and the NHS and I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful service on my doorstep. Thank you to everyone who made my visit as welcoming and pleasant in the situation, I will obviously be back to start my treatment and will see you all then. Keep up the good work and thank you again.
