From start to finish Helen was outstanding. She was genuinely lovely and made me feel very cared for and listened to. She always seemed to go over and above the normal protocol.
I had slightly raised blood pressure early on in my pregnancy (not sure if this was ‘white coat syndrome’ or more likely COVID-19!!!). I hadn’t been out n about until my first face to face appointment with Helen so I think it was more COVID-19 related rather than anything else as Helen certainly did not make me feel uncomfortable at any point, quite the opposite.
Anyway Helen sent me for further BP assessments she also sent me for further scans, later on in my pregnancy as my baby seemed to be lying side on rather than head down. I know this all seems routine practice but it’s not necessarily what Helen did but the way she did it. She was always very open and honest about everything e.g. I was to be induced at 40 weeks as my baby was through fertility treatment n this was what my wife was recommended a few years back. Helen checked all this out and got back to me but she did state that I should prepare myself that the hosp may send me home until 41 weeks due to COVID-19!!!!!!
After my daughter was born Helen was on annual leave so I only got her for 1 of my 3 home visits. I was delighted to see Helen again as there was a chance that if baby arrived late I wouldn’t have seen her again. My partner was equally as impressed with Helen. Saying that she is absolutely lovely. Even the other midwives that visited had nothing but lovely stuff to say about Helen. I’m kinda sad I don’t get to see her again.
Helen is an absolutely outstanding midwife and a credit to the profession. I genuinely cannot thank her enough for everything she did to keep me n my baby safe during my pregnancy.
"Excellent community midwife"
