"My depression"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I was very depressed, my friend MADE me contact you. I was very lucky to be offered counselling very quickly.

I was very apprehensive about it but my counsellor was very patient with me as I found it very difficult to express myself. As the weeks progressed it got easier. I was given access to very good leaflets which I could read at my leisure, with good advice to put into practice.

It worked. I m pleased to say that horrible black cloud has left me. If you need help I urge you to contact the inclusion college.

Dear verena,

It sounds like you have a good, supportive friend there. We know that it can be hard to ask for help, especially when you’re feeling so low. Well done for taking that first step, as well as all of the next ones.

I’m glad to hear that you were happy with the time you waited for your initial appointment and also with your allocated therapist. It can be difficult to open up at first but we often find this easier as we get more familiar with someone. It’s great that you found the resources helpful and that you were able to put the skills to use.

Congratulations on your hard work and feeling better as a result of it. I’m sure others will feel more confident to contact us on reading about your experience.

All the best,

Chloe Anderson
