"Managing the transition from one medication to another"

About: Ealing Community Partners - Community Psychological and Mental Health Services St Bernard's Wing / Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team

(as a service user),

I was having serious side effects from the medication I was on and needed to change to something with fewer side effects.  Dr. Reshad, a member of the Ealing CATT team, was assigned to my case. After an extensive review of my file/history, and consultations with me (and his team), it was decided to transition to a different medication.  The plan required that I take both medications for about 2 months, gradually decreasing the old medication and gradually increasing the new one.

I'm happy to advise that after 10 weeks, I'm stabilized on my new medication and one of the side effects I was suffering from has now normalized.

Dr. Reshad was extremely sympathetic from the beginning and I felt well supported and cared for throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Dr. Reshad to anyone in need of similar treatment.

Update posted by Kaizen (a service user)

Hello Sara,

There were a couple of changes in my original message, Dr Reshad's full name was removed, as well as the names of the medications.

Thank you

Kaizen
