"Compassionate Clinic"

I had a surgical termination for medical reasons today. I cannot say enough how kind and understanding a the staff at BPAS Richmond were to me. I was ending a much wanted pregnancy due to fetal abnormalities, I thought the whole experience would be traumatising, but this thankfully was not the case. The nurses brought me a blanket and held my hair back as I was sick from the Misoprostol side effects. A nurse wiped my tears and held my hand before I went into theatre. The anaesthetist and theatre nurses calmed and distracted me as I was having the cannula put in and oxygen mask put on. The nurses in recovery were caring and chatty. I was given a cup of tea and a snack after the procedure. An experience that I expected to be completely awful was made less so by the wonderful care I received here. Thank you BPAS Richmond for looking after me and other women with such compassion.
