"A scary experience made much easier"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Xrays & Scans

(as a relative),

My mum who is 83 and very deaf was nervous about getting an MRI scan.  But we were met by Pauline at the xray reception desk who couldn't do enough for us.  My mum was already stressed as my dad had been admitted in FVRH a couple of days before and we couldn't visit due to COVID.  Pauline was very friendly and greeted us with a smile.

One of the girls from xray offered to help me undress my mum and was also very helpful.  Gareth took my mum away and totally put her at ease, talking loudly but not patronising.  And he praised her and told her how well she had done to stay still during the MRI.

A scary experience for my elderly mum was made so much easier by these three people.

Dear Tabitha1

Thank you for taking the time to provide this positive feedback after your mum attended for an MRI scan. An MRI scan can be quite a daunting experience for many people and I am extremely pleased to hear that staff were friendly and helpful making your mums experience so much easier.

I have shared your comments with the staff and they are delighted to hear that they were able to make your mums experience as good as it could be.

We would like to thank you again for taking the time to share this, it is always good to hear when we are getting things right for our patients.
