"Colposcopy Appointment"

I recently had an abnormal smear, and because I work at the Hospital, this did make me a little nervous, as it would be a clinic with people I knew.  From the moment I arrived the girls on reception were reassuring and polite (Julie and Suzanne) and then I entered the clinic and Miss Rao, Consultant, was very explanatory about the procedure and also the reasons why it was required.  Even though she knew I was fully aware from my background at the hospital, she still explained thoroughly

The Nurse (Amy) and HCSW (Janet) made me feel at ease during the whole procedure and Miss Rao completed it quickly and smoothly.  Explaining to me at all times what was happening and letting me know I was in control at any time I can stop if needed.

I cannot thank all the staff enough for their care, empathy and explanation.  Not very often I am on the 'other side' but it was a pleasant experience (as much as a colp can be!)
