I am 77 years old. I had breast cancer 30 years ago and had lumpectomy and lymph glands removed at Northwick Park Hospital in 1990. When I found a lump in the same breast this year, I rang Northwick Surgery and told the receptionist. She said no appointments and ring back but she obviously told the doctor. A GP rang me the same day, referred me to the hospital and a doctor rang me from Central Middlesex. I had a clinic appointment at Northwick Park, which included mammogram, biopsies and ultrasound. As a result I had surgery, a mastectomy, a few weeks later. This was followed up by visits from the excellent Starrs service of hospital based nurses and with clinic appointments.
I am delighted with how well and speedily the system has worked for me despite the virus. I am very grateful for the treatment I have received and am receiving from the various teams who have been most caring.
