This is my second visit unfortunately within 4 weeks to A&E. Both unavoidable. On both visit's the time until triage was well over 45 mins despite 1 visit being Central chest pain and only 1 person to be triaged before me. Patients are then seen in time of attendance order rather than severity of illness/injury (if presenting on foot). Patients are then cherry picked from the waiting room so those who can be discharged quickly are seen first so they are discharged from the department quickly (e.g toothache triaged, seen by doctor, and discharged before central CP seen by Dr).Covid precautions/cleanliness is extremely poor and is not taken seriously. Reception do not instruct/remind patients to gel hands and PPE is worn in multiple areas without removing at the appropriate times. Confidential and personal information is disclosed to the entire waiting area as it has to be shouted through the reception glass wall as they are now unable to utilise facial expressions or lipread due to face masks. I could give you the names, DOB, addresses, telephone numbers, NOK details and full history of their attendance regardless of how embarrassing it is, of every patient that walked through the door. The waiting time display is never updated and repeats the same time to be seen 24/7. One of the worst A&E departments I have ever visited.
"Poor performance"
