"Care and compassion"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU) Crosshouse Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as a service user),

My Dad was admitted to Crosshouse Hospital to the Combined Assessment Centre and then to the ICU at the end of July, 2020 and sadly passed away. The care, compassion and professionalism of all the staff was exceptional. Staff communicated with us to keep us appraised of my Dad’s condition and supported us when we had to make the difficult decision to withdraw support. Having had a terrible experience 4 years earlier when my Mum passed away, there was a huge difference. Can’t’ thank the staff enough for making a difficult time more bearable.

Dear BCH50
I am so sorry for your loss but am heartened to hear of the difference that our staff made to you in this difficult time. Our team in ICU will always endeavour to provide the best quality care to patients and families, particularly for those facing difficult choices as you had to.
Thank-you for taking the time to provide this feedback and once again I would like to pass on my condolences to you and your family and this difficult time.

Regards
Fraser
