"Lack of empathy and understanding"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

my daughter came to give birth yesterday at CUH and what should of been a happy emotional day was ruined for myself and my daughter due to the lack of empathy and understanding and patient rights yes I understand C19 is a dangerous virus but the pandemic has lessened and we are part of the same household! My daughter needed me and was extremely upset I her mother could not be present for the birth I obviously had to let the father see his child born, I was treated badly by the receptionist she has a bad attitude and treated me like some sort of 2nd class nobody another nurse lied to our faces my daughter was left on her own in painful labour while we both had to be outside …...you need to look again at your rules you left any one visit the covid wards spreading the virus to god knows where but we were not allowed to be together as a family at a deeply emotional time leaving us distressed when we should of been together and after sitting outside for hours I heard the exact same thing from other people yes you need to be cautious and you cant have lots of people roaming the labour wards but lift the restrictions as a woman needs her mother in these times as well as the father of the child....we cannot get this time back ......so thanks but we will not be using your services again and wont recommend CUH.
