"I couldn't be more disappointed"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I couldn't be more disappointed of the lack of seriousness and professionalism from the two dentist surgeons that were on duty at SAU on my recent visit.

I've been literally "stabbed* 4 times to the bone with anesthesic (I say stabbed because I've been numerous times to the dentist and received the anesthesic shots so many times and not came close to the pain felt by the approach the dentist had) and in no more than 2 sec they made an incision. At the end when I asked why not wait for the anesthesic to take effect I've been told that it wouldn't have made a difference because the anesthesic wouldn't have worked due to the infection - Well then why tormented 4 times and not do the cut without?

They couldn't even advise on when I can eat and what until I've asked as I was standing there waiting for a reaction. Honestly they acted like children as we head towards the surgery room and such a deep feeling to abort the surgery went through my mind but I had to do something to help the antibiotics fight the abscess that evolved rapidly.

I am not going to appeal to the hospital services due to my experience.

In my opinion, positions in the Healthcare industry should be giving their best to improve, that it's the most important for us human beings.

May God give them wisdom!

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your feedback about the dental treatment you recently had while on SAU.

I was very sorry to hear about your poor experience and for the discomfort and distress that was caused during your treatment.

I will most certainly share your feedback with the General Manager for our dental service, who I am sure will take any necessary action that they can to address this.

My apologies once again for the less than satisfactory care you received on this occasion. If you would like to contact us and provide any further details about our experience then you can contact our PALS team via email at LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net or by phone on 020 8869 5118.

Kind regards

Peter Hare
