"It's not the GP's job to question my entitlement to NHS"

About: Erne Road Health Centre - Dr. Cathcart & Partners

(as the patient),

I phoned my GP for an appointment about my sore breast. This issue started last December. They initially sent me for an x-ray (which was clear). Months later it became increasingly sore and I was prescribed over the phone Naproxen.

Last Monday I phoned again as my pain still present. They told me they were very busy this week so maybe I should go and get seen and treated in my country (I told her I will be going away soon to see my mom).

I had to explain that I'm a British citizen and I can't get treated in some other country. I'm shocked on so many levels. It's not the GP's job to question my entitlement to NHS because I have an accent. I have breast pain for over 8 months and I had to beg for a referral to the breast clinic.

They are still refusing to do any bloods. I'm feeling let down, and with this lockdown, I don't have the option to seek another opinion. I will change practice as soon as I can. Whilst I agree it's not necessary to see the GP in person I'm against the strictly over the phone appointments. I think it should be the choice of the patient.
