"Wonderful care for hip replacement"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had been in significant pain for 9 months waiting for a hip replacement. And then my surgery was postponed for at least 3 months because of coronavirus. It was quite depressing. But I decided to keep fit. Thanks to Joe Wickes!

And finally got admitted to the Royal Surrey Hospital in mid-July under the care of Mr Rosson. It was exactly one year since first asking my GP to help me.

After surgery, I was looked after on the Frensham Ward under the care of James, the Ward Nurse. All the staff I came into contact with were wonderful and all went out of their way to help me. I observed staff helping others time and time again, often under very difficult circumstances.

The cleaners were so careful. It was very impressive watching them at work. The safety measures in place, because of coronavirus were excellent and all the staff followed these measures 100%. It made me feel very safe indeed.

I was home after just one night in hospital and I cannot ever thank the Royal Surrey Hospital and its staff enough. Thank you!
