"I have been diagnosed with stage one skin cancer"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Dermatology

(as a service user),

After my biopsy I was advised I needed to have the rest of the cancer removed by a plastic surgeon and was booked in to have it removed. To my disappointment I was given 3 hours notice it had been cancelled with no reasonable explanation ...I feel I should have been given some kind of explanation as to why such short notice this has happened to me and was not given any information as to when I should receive another appointment I also had to self isolate to have this procedure done which I find totally unacceptable

Dear Gina13

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have encountered following your biopsy for stage one skin cancer and the short notice cancellation of your appointment to the Plastic Surgeon. This is not the experience we would expect you to have received.

To help look into this further for you and enable a more detailed explanation of the rational on why this happened, I would be grateful if you could make contact with our Patient Affairs Team on 01236 713065. The will enable the team to take your details to help look into this formally and respond back with a fuller explanation.

Please accept my sincere apologies and will investigate further once we have your information.

Warmest Regards

Lynn
