"Exemplary care and outstanding standards"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation in April after having two stents inserted in December 2019.

 I attended the cardiology assessment hub in Altnagelvin hospial and not the  Accident and Emergency Department. This was my first time using this service. I had been feeling unwell for some days with chest discomfort, breathlessness and some chest soreness. Nurse Michelle looked after me expertly, quickly answering my concerns and making me feel a lot less worried! 

     The major benefit of the HUB is the immediate access you have to the appropriate service and the expert knowledge of the staff there. I guess we become accustomed to be treated so well but I never fail to be humbled by the exemplary care and outstanding standards of the staff so epitomised by Michelle.
