"Suspected stroke"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

It was Sunday. Woke up feeling dizzy so went to the toilet and felt really sick. Wasnt till later on about 2. 00 really started feeling dizzy very sick and sweating like mad. wife was not happy seeing this she phoned an ambulance.

The paramedics came right away. They were absolutely brilliant could not have done anymore. Having to do all this while im over a toilet seat is not easy believe me. So out to xhouse hospital Kilmarnock.

Was assessed taken up to the stroke ward. As soon as I got there I was treated as if I was the king. Absolutely amazing staff could not do enough for me attending to everything to make me more comfortable. So Sunday night wasn't great still same symptoms. Then into the Monday feeling lousy I heard this voice talking to the other patients. And I listened what I heard was the funniest things. This nurse was Alex brilliant heard him singing he was one amazing guy.

Then I was attended to by John he was one amazing nurse so my problems put my wife at ease on the phone and gave me the medicine that I so badly needed. John virtually never left my side cant thank you enough John. After that met the doctor who was great still being a bit under the weather.

Tuesday was when I really started feeling better nurses everywhere attending to your every need. Cannot thank them enough every single one of them. Would be unfair to name them all but so good to me. Then I had physio from Ryan which really helped gem of a guy. So Wed I was up for an Mri scan which I am truly blessed came back all clear.

Although I did feel very sorry for patients in my ward who had all suffered a stroke. So it was the young Doctor who came and told me it was clear and I could go to discharge lounge and get home. So from the bottom of my heart And toall at 3Exhouse hospital you are all brilliant love you all.

Dear Snebber,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that you had reason to use our services and those of the wider NHS. It sounds like a nasty few days. I do hope that you are well on the road to a full recovery and are feeling much better!

I am however really pleased to read about the care that you received, particularly from our crew. It is clear that they acted with the professionalism that we would expect. If you would like I can arrange for these kind comments to be passed to the crew, all I would nee you to do is email Scotamb.feedback@nhs.net and make reference to your CareOpinion Username as well as the date/time and address we attended. That way we can find the crew and tell them and their managers what a good job they did.

Thanks again for your feedback and I wish you all the very best

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear snebber,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on care opinion. What a difficult and frightening time you had. Equally worrying for your wife. I am glad John was able to support you and ease some of your wifes concerns.

The team will be delighted to read your comments about all your care ( including Alex for his singing voice!).

I am glad you got good news on your scan.

Best wishes for your future recovery.

Christine
