Have had a repeat monthly prescription for severe hip arthritis for at least 12 months. As I have had a flare up I asked for the strength of my cocodomol tablets to be temporarily increased. Today I try to collect from the chemist and find that I only have half my monthly dose and the other monthly medicine not on the amended prescription. I am self employed and need to work. When I have a painful flare up of arthritis it is even difficult to walk. I didn't need the new guide lines on such medication rammed down my throat. Perhaps apart from painkillers if the doctors actually prescribed some of the wonderful arthritis medicines that are available I wouldn't need the pain killers. But a lecture especially on guidance just doesn't really benefit my arthritis at all. This condition and lack of treatments is ruining my life. The receptionist stated that l have had 200 tablets last month and with the new guidance I will probably get less. I honestly didn't realise that a receptionist should have access to so much personal information on my medicine. You would think a simple repeat prescription would be no problem. Think again.!
