I was told I would be contacted by phone on the day of my appointment to go through Covid-19 screening questions. This did not happen.
I arrived at the medical centre and approached the receptionist. They asked my name and told me to take a seat. There were no Covid-19 screening questions again. The reception area is the responsibility of the Practice the scan was delivered by Yorkshire Health Solutions.
I was collected from the waiting area by a member of staff, no idea what their role was or their name as there was no introduction. It was a case of “follow me” as they raced ahead of me.
In the clinic room, again no Covid-19 screening questions or checks. No introductions so again I don’t know who did my scan or what grade of staff they were.
There are so many Covid-19 screening processes in place in local hospitals I was shocked to see so little interest in Covid-19 at this medical centre. There was some signage up, the receptionist wore a mask, the clinical person had additional PPE and the reception desk was surrounded by chairs presumably to create a barrier between them and the risk that patients could present with Covid-19. Perhaps do some screening before patients attend to reduce the risk as opposed to spending your time building a barricade around the reception desk.
Please introduce yourselves and ensure your identification badges are visible at all times. Make yourselves aware of the Hello My Name Is campaign because it really does highlight the importance of the little things, like introducing yourself.
