"Recovery from substance addiction"

About: One Recovery Bucks / High Wycombe

(as a service user),

I relapsed into heroin use after years being clean. I referred myself to the service and began the long road to being clean again with weekly sessions seeing my worker Sharon and collecting my prescribed medicine from my local pharmacy. All the professionals involved treated me with humanity and respect and made the journey not only bearable but actually enjoyable and life affirming - helping me to see the emptiness that drugs bring and the value of human care.

The covid pandemic meant I had to finish my treatment remotely (thankfully no Zoom though! ) but the provision continued and I am now clean again, which is how I intend to stay.
