"Emergency c section"

About: Maternity care (Wards 47, 48 & 50) / Maternity care (Ward 47) Maternity care (Wards 47, 48 & 50) / Maternity care (Ward 48)

(as a service user),

I have had the best care I could ever ask for from ward 47 and 48. The midwifes, staff nurses, auxiliary nurses, consultants and doctors have all been amazing! ! I came in to be induced and it all started very quickly. The midwifes on the ward (night shift, Tuesday at the end of June) where fantastic and took care of me when I was at my most vulnerable. I can’t thank them enough.

I got to labour ward and baby back to back and I was contracting very fast, my bp was low and she was becoming distressed. Got to 9cm and rushed in for emergency c section. Everybody fantastic on labour ward and in surgery. They managed to make a scary situation much better and took control.

Baby girl born safely and well. Took back up to Ward 47 and once again all staff absolutely brilliant! !

I appreciate the care we have had in QEUH and would recommend having your baby here! Nothing was ever too much trouble. I wish there was some way I could thank everybody for a very positive experience in such a frightening situation.

I will forever be grateful for the care and attention given to my baby girl and myself especially during these difficult times during Covid.

All the staff work so hard and deserve a big bonus! !

And pay rise! ! !

Hello,

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little girl! I hope you and baby are both well and thank you so much for taking the time to share this lovely feedback with us.

I am sorry that you had such a frightening experience, but it is reassuring to hear that the staff looked after you both so well and were able to make a worrying time a bit less scary for you.

I will be delighted to pass this post on to the staff in wards 47 and 48. I'm sure they will be so pleased to hear what a positive impact their care had on your experience.

Very best wishes,
Rachel
