"appalling waiting times"

About: Wrightington Hospital

absoluty appalling service within the waiting times was booked in for an operation on 23rd March 2020 only for it to be cancelled In the evening of the 18th March 2020 due to covid 19 in which I totally understand. After numerous telephone calls to admissions, medical secretaries, outpatients and compliance. I am now told that the system gas changed and the list of priorities. I am categorised as priority 4. Which means I have to now wait 12 months after waiting three and half years to initially receive a data

Would totally not recommend coming to wrightington and if you do good luck. I think that they need to look at their list of priorities and policies and change their policies so that them that had a date and was cancelled due to unfortunate circumstances are seen and operated on first rather than go to the bottom of the waitingist and are having to wait another twelve months.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience on this site. I am sorry to read your comments in respect of waiting times; I have asked the Division of Specialist Services to provide me with information, and been advised that the Trust is operating on Greater Manchester safety guidelines. This means that the Division are appointing patients according to their clinical priority. The prioritising has been done by clinicians following the Royal College of Surgeons guidelines, and the Division are currently operating on Priority 2 patients as directed by the Trust executive team.

May I advise that you get in touch with our department for further information and we can also look at your case on an individual basis. Our number is 01942 822376, a member of my team will be happy to speak to you.

Kind regards

Vicky Bolton
