"Lovely staff but lacking organisation. "

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

111 advised we attend A&E. My daughter was seen and xrayed within 20 mins but then waited another 3 hours to be told there was nothing broken and we could leave. The nurse was lovely and explained there was only one doctor on for the whole of A&E, I understand being short staffed. What I don't understand, is why a doctor can't look at multiple xrays and instruct the nurses to ask some people to stay and explain to others that there is nothing broken. When the doctor came through to the children's area, from telling me he was going to look at my daughters xray to telling us it was tendon damage and to go home took 4 minutes. There must be a more efficient way of letting people know there is nothing wrong. However, the staff were all lovely.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us.

I am sorry that you felt that you were kept waiting for your daughters X ray results, that must have left you feeling frustrated.

Would it be helpful if we discussed the process further?

If you feel that it would please contact me.

I will of course share your kind words with the staff that cared for your daughter in the department.

Best wishes
