"Extremely unhelpful receptionist "

About: Far Lane Medical Centre

I handed in my papers to join this surgery as I live on the next road and my doctor that I visit at another surgery retired. I went in to collect some papers and fill them out and the receptionist couldn’t get me out of the door quick enough, painfully unhelpful. I really needed to see a doctor and it had been 2 weeks since I handed in my papers and I still wasn’t on the system so I went back to my usual surgery to visit the new doctor. Thankfully I had a pleasant and helpful experience there so off the back of that I called Far Lane and withdrew my papers - I definitely don’t need to deal with unhelpful staff in difficult times. Today my partner went to hand in his papers to change surgery to them and again he was met with the same unhelpful staff member. He called me afterwards explaining the same attitude that I’d dealt with, which for sure won’t be a coincidence (bare in mind we are extremely understanding people). 111 had advised to see a doctor and that he should be able to hand in papers and get a temporary appointment but she declined all help and told him to go to the walk-in. Thankfully he went to the pharmacy next door who are always helpful and got some temporary medication, but he’s debating to withdraw his application papers just as I did. It’s a shame when you have a front line member of staff giving the whole surgery a bad reputation.
