Just completed the Hospice 12 week course for patients.

During the course we learned about each others problems and shared experiences.

The staff imparted really useful information and created a really good atmosphere bring out the best in us all.

The course was interrupted by the start of the Covid pandemic.

During the course we learned about each others problems and shared experiences.

Give the staff their due the started using Zoom as a substitute and this allowed us to see each other again and talk to and support each other.

Although the video conference idea was new to them, they ran the sessions really well.

The general opinion was that the project was a great success and well run so much so that we want to continue to meet each other next week.

Under the current situation I hope that others on the next course get the same from the hospice zoom that we did and wish ever success to future groups.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive, very welcome, post on your experience at Kilbryde's Virtual Day Service by Zoom. I recognise that you have seen both sides of our Day Service; one half in the hospice and the other half at home via Zoom. As Clinical Services Manager, I am delighted to see that despite the obvious curtailment of our "normal" service due to COVID-19 you have still been able to share experiences and support each other albeit by Zoom. You are correct in thinking that delivering services by Zoom is new to our nursing staff but I am glad to hear that the sessions they ran were well received and in your opinion a great success.

I will be certain to feed this back to Kirsten, Karen and all the team who work behind the scenes to pull it together. Your story will be a great boost to them.
