"Shocking Receptionist - Scared to call in future."

Doctors are fantastic if you can navigate the rude, abrupt and unprofessional receptionist [not all receptionists btw]. On multiple occasions a particular staff member, interrupts, speaks over, patronises and disconnects calls whilst you're still talking with a parting sarcastic "Goodbye". We live in society with vulnerable, elderly and people with mental health complexities trying to access essential medical support, this could act as a deterrent to securing the help they need simply because they cannot face the interaction with the practices front office. As a family we cannot face further interactions like this when we should be concentrating on the salient point for contacting your community doctors practice - health. We have unfortunately took the decision to leave Maghull Family Surgery which is a shame as the doctors we have interacted with have been incredible. It is frightening to think that there is such self appointed empowerment and autonomy assumed by people who then act as gatekeepers to essential critical services. As per the conditions of review publication I have omitted items relating to examples of malpractice and instead submitted these to the care quality commission. Until there are front office changes I would avoid this surgery at all costs.
