My mother Frances passed away in the Onslow Ward at the Royal Surrey County Hospital this morning, under the constant attentive and loving care of the staff - by which I mean every single person from the water provider to the catering staff to the palliative care team, the doctors, the nurses, the health care assistants and everyone involved. My family and I were so very blessed to spend this time with her and to know that she was made as comfortable as was humanly possible at the end of her life. We (my husband and I and my daughter) were treated with dignity and courtesy throughout from a very hardworking team who could not do enough for us. She would want me to leave this note of appreciation here to all the staff and to thank them for their constant loving care. This was a difficult and traumatic time, especially during this pandemic and we were so grateful for the dignity and respect offered to her. Thank you all so very much for your kindness.
