I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child, I was due to have a planned c- section with my first pregnancy due to baby being breach and a low lying placenta. This turned into an emergency caesarean due to a hemorrhage before the birth of my daughter. I had planned on having an elective section with my 2nd child due to the traumatic nature of the first labour.
I had an over the phone appointment at 17 weeks and was informed that an elective section was only an option if this had been my 3rd pregnancy due to Covid-19. I was told my only option was a VBAC. I was shocked by this information and asked for it in writing ( which I still have not received nearly 5 weeks later.)
I can not find any information online that this is the case, and I have been informed that this is not happening in England by a midwife there as it would be taking away my rights to a choice of how I labour. I would like someone from Wishaw Hospital to explain if this is the case or if I need to request to talk to someone else.
