"Being in hospital during covid19"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU) Ninewells Hospital / Acute Surgical Receiving Unit

(as the patient),

I was unwell. My kidney and liver were failing. We found out, once I was I and tests. But before ambulance arrived. I stood up dizziness fell over. Trapping foot under sofa corner. Causing my leg to explode. But the excellent surgeons. At Ninewells Hospital. (Steven) and his team. Rebuild my foot and leg. That was 60 day's ago. And still in. Ward 10 side room 4. Nurse's (senior Charge nurse Craig). And his team have looked after me so so well. Even when my mental health was not good.  I was allowed to have my wife. With mask & PPE. In to see me before me second operation because I was so scared I may have lost my leg.

In my opinion the Doctors & staff could do nothing more. For me as they went above&beyond to make my stay here as comfortable as they could possibly make it. First Class

Dear "Bluehos" I am so sorry to hear about your difficult time. It was heartening to hear that you have received excellent care and that, despite the restrictions on visiting, nursing staff helped you manage what was an understandably very anxious time.

We are constantly reviewing how we are supporting people and helping them to stay in touch with those that matter to them. I will share your feedback with the team and those who are helping staff facilitate virtual visiting and support for people when so many restrictions are in place.

I hope you continue to recover and thank you for sharing your experience with us

Warmest regards

Debbie
