"Sudden Admission"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Physiotherapy Lincoln County Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

My hip replacement dislocated at home during lockdown & I had to call 999. An ambulance arrived to take me to hospital,   the 2 paramedics were excellent, gave me lots of gas & air for the pain & put a facemask on me, they were very reassuring.   Obviously I was nervous about going to hospital during the Covid crisis but it was unavoidable. A& E staff were really good, all masked & gloved, friendly, efficient & understanding of pts anxiety. I had to be admitted for 2 days so was given a swab test for CV19 which proved negative. All staff on the ward, xray & theatre were brilliant, from the tea lady to the nurses, surgeons & physio team. I felt very safe in Lincoln County Hospital.

Dear Lincslass,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with me. I am so pleased to hear you are well on the road to recovery and I'm delighted to hear that our ambulance crews were able to help you in your hour of need and reassure you about going to hospital during lockdown.

If you are able, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via telephone on 0333 012 4216 or email emas.pals@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Brian Jaffrey
