(as a service user),

I had a long addiction to alcohol. And recently lost my long time partner. I have been sober now for over 12 months, but since lockdown and loosing my partner I am determined not to go back. I have had excellent support via zoom from the staff at the Priory hospital in Chelmsford. Also would like to praise CGL in Cambridgeshire, especially Adrian and Andrea for the excellent support, by group meetings and also on the end of the phone. I wouldn’t have been able to get through this without there help. Not to mention the fantastic support given by my peers in the group’s

Hi John

On behalf of CGL, I am so sorry for your loss. This must have been devastating for you. With that and everything else going on at the moment, it is unbelievable the resolve and determination you have shown. 12 months sober is amazing and Im sure you will agree it is still hard but I'm sure there are so many positive things that have come from it for you.

One positive for us as a service is the development of these online support groups. Service users have really taken to them and have sat in on a few and they really do work. It is something we will keep way beyond when any lockdown is eased.

Ill certainly pass on your kind words to Andrea and Adrian but its you who has done the hard work and hopefully will gain all the benefits. Good luck and keep engaging with the support available.
