"Allowing us to say goodbye"

About: St Lukes Hospice

(as a friend),

Not being allowed to see a loved one in hospital for weeks during the Covid 19 pandemic has been so hard for us all as a family

Letting dad come to the hospice was the best decision we made . All the staff  in the inpatient unit were kind and compassionate  You all work so hard in these difficult times .
We were allowed one designated family member to visit  dad , but we were so grateful that we were allowed a final farewell visit ..
Thank you Simone and Stella for allowing us to be able to do this through the gate and beautiful garden at the hospice .It was so well organised . The peace and calmness of the garden made it easier for us all .

We will be forever grateful that we were allowed the time to be with dad and say goodbye .

The care,, professionalism ,compassion and support you have given has all had been outstanding .

Thank you all of you for looking after dad and his family  .We are so grateful that we have a local hospice .

Dear Fever tree

Thank you for giving this lovely feedback on your fathers care on the inpatient unit. Please accept our deepest condolences for your recent loss. In these challenging times we acknowledge loved ones have been unable to say goodbye to family and friends since stringent restrictions were introduced in the UK on 23rd March. Wanting to be with someone at the end of their life is one of the deepest human instincts and a moment that will be with you forever.

Here at St Luke’s Hospice after deep consideration and thought we have implemented a system which allows loved ones to say goodbye in a safe manner within the hospice environment.

We are pleased that your family were able to have the time with your father and be with him to say goodbye.

Stella passes on her condolences to you and your family as do the entire team here at St Luke's hospice.
