About: The Gold Street Surgery

I am not a patient here. My 95 year old mother is. She has asthma and failing eye sight. She is registered disabled. Some weeks ago I contacted Gold Street to request they put her on the Covid 19 vulnerable person register. This request was refused. I must own I find this decision strange. If she is not vulnerable who is?

I would also question the practicies policies regarding repeat prescriptions in the context of equable access. I was told on thursday by a receptionist (21/05/20) that the regular procedure for patients who did not have online access was that they had to visit the surgery in person every time they needed repeat prescription supplies. This policy would appear to disadvantage those (most likely older patients) who do not have internet contact. These are likely those patients who will also find visiting the surgery in person most difficult.

Perhaps this policy needs review in the context of equable service provision.
