"My Granda who sadly passed away"

About: Fraserburgh Hospital

(as a relative),

My granda was in the Bruklay ward in Fraserburgh with severe dementia and took a turn for the worse and sadly he died. We as a family sat with him for 3 whole days until he passed. The care and attention that was given to not only my granda but the entire family was amazing. There is not one thing we could have said needed to be different. Every single nurse played a huge part in making us feel so comforted, and that they weren’t only being nurses but friends too, bending over backwards for us all. We will never be able to pay back out thanks to them all.

Please see the response below shared on behalf of Fraserburgh Hospital:

Dear Lou m,

Please accept my condolences for you and your family’s loss and thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion at what must be a difficult time.

It must have been really hard to watch your Granda slip away but I can tell the care and attention you all received from the staff at Brucklay Ward made things a little easier. Knowing their explanations were comforting and help appreciated means a lot to the staff here.

Thanks again for sharing your story with us - your words will go a long way to paying back the kindness you and your family received.

Take care,

Moira Milne, Senior Charge Nurse
